At Creature Comforts at Runaway Farm, we believe grooming is essential to your pet's overall health and happiness. Our skilled grooming team provides a calm, safe environment where your dog can get pampered and look their absolute best.
Our Standard Grooming services start at $69. Because every dog is unique, final pricing is customized based on your pet’s chosen package and individual needs.

🧼 Our Service Packages

Choose the perfect care routine for your pup's coat and style goals:
  • The Bath Package: Includes a relaxing bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, and a thorough brushing.
  • The Tidy-Up Trim: Includes everything in the Bath Package, plus neat trimming of the paw pads, feet, sanitary areas, and face. (For longer-coated breeds like Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, or Bernese Mountain Dogs, this package also includes tidying up leg and booty feathers).
  • The Full Haircut: Includes everything in the Bath Package, along with a tailored, all-over haircut to your specifications.

✂️ Understanding Our Custom Pricing

To ensure every pet receives the specific time, patience, and care they deserve, final service prices vary beyond our base rates due to several key factors:
Styling, Coat, & Effort
  • Requested Haircut & Scissor Work: A specialized breed cut requires more time and technical skill than a simple, single-length shave. Extensive hand-scissoring will also adjust the final cost.
  • Drying, Brushing, & De-Shedding: Long, thick, or high-velocity drying and intensive de-shedding treatments require extra time and specialized tools.
  • Coat Type: Textures and densities vary significantly—even within the same breed. For example, some Golden Retrievers possess incredibly dense coats that require significantly more labor to wash, dry, and brush than others.

Your Pet's Unique Needs

  • Temperament: Your pet's emotional comfort is our top priority. Anxious, fearful, or aggressive pets require a slower pace and extra care to ensure a safe, positive experience.
  • Age: Our youngest puppies and senior friends frequently need extra patience, physical support, and gentle handling throughout their spa day.

Condition of the Coat (Matting)

  • Safe Mat Removal: Removing stubborn mats by brushing or shaving requires painstaking care to avoid harming your dog's sensitive skin.
  • Shaving vs. Brushing: While we brush out light knots, tight and excessive matting cannot be humanely brushed out. For your pet's comfort, severe matting must be carefully shaved away.
  • Equipment Upkeep: Heavily matted coats rapidly wear down and dull our precision grooming tools, requiring more frequent maintenance and replacement.

📅 The Importance of a Routine Grooming Schedule

Keeping your dog on a consistent routine is vital for their coat health, skin condition, and behavioral desensitization. Regular visits teach your dog that grooming is a fun, stress-free part of life!
  • Long-Haired Breeds (Poodles, Shih Tzus, etc.): We strongly recommend booking appointments every 4 to 10 weeks. As a rule of thumb: the longer you prefer to keep your dog's coat, the sooner their next appointment should be.
  • Inconsistent Schedules (13+ Weeks): Waiting 13 weeks or longer between grooming appointments leads to significantly heavier workloads, severe tangles, and extended styling times. Because of this extra labor, an additional service charge will apply to overdue coats.
